Crock pot roast

As mentioned earlier I wanted to cook a roast today. I started with a recipe I found online and modified with some advice from my sister and an idea of my own.

* 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
* 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
* 1 1/4 cups beef broth
* 3 1/2 pounds pot roast
* 1 Small bag of baby carrots
* 2 cans of taters

I had a problem with volume.

The crock was filled to the top, and I couldn't fit the potatoes in there. It boiled over a bit, so I took out some spill insurance.

Nine hours fly by.

Right before I decant the roast, I start a packet of instant mashed potatoes.
So I decant the roast, which is a two tongs maneuver, and then ladle out the gravy and carrots.

Sadie stole my spot.

Now for dinner.

It is tender and very tasty and I have tons of left-overs.
The recipe is too large for my crock pot, and (I never thought I'd say this) I have more gravy than can be used. I aslo think I seriously missed out not cooking potatoes in there.
So, when I do this again, I'll either cut down the recipe, or get a bigger crock.
I do enjoy the "throw stuff in the slow cooker" style of cooking.
